    More Football and Movies

So I did very well on my picks this week.  12 out of 15 (possibly 16 tonight) with three of my upsets getting the job done.  I picked the Packers because Bret Farve seems to be really enjoying his time on the field with his young team.  I picked Arizona because I’m not buying Seattle this year.  I picked Houston because they seem to be fielding the best team they ever had (which isnt saying much) and now I picked Washington, because McNabb is the new Culpepper.  That’s right, get ready for a suckfest in Philly.

I saw 3:10 to Yuma, and must say it was easily the best film of the year.  Russell Crowe was absolute badass and Christain Bale is on a roll.  I never really cared for Westerns, but this was unbelievable, an absolute must see for any fan of cinema.

What was even better about seeing this movie was reading Roger Ebert’s review after it.  I never usually agree with critics, but since Roger Ebert appears to be on his way out, he has been writing some of the best criticisms he’s ever written.  If you ever wanna check them out, go to www.rogerebert.com .  I don’t think he’ll be writing many more, so enjoy them while you can.

The pats look solid, and pretty much unstoppable.  Roosevelt Colvin and Mike Vrabel made one of the league’s top offenses their personal ho-train.  Maybe my Pats/Lions fantasy superbowl isn’t really out of the question.

New Orleans should be ashamed of themselves.  With all that talent on offense they have produced jack shit.

Never bet on Baltimore to have a blow out game.  Defense can win games, but rarely racks up big points, and Baltimore hasn’t fielded a good offense since Johnny Unitas was at the helm of the old school Colts.  No exaggeration, take a look for yourself.

Next week seems to be a hard week to pick football games.  My money is on Houston stunning those Colts.  Houston is on a roll, and Peyton and co. looked rather sloppy against a mediocre AFC team.  So for the second week in a row, Houston will be my Upset of the Week.

I think I’m the only person in Boston who’s ready for hockey season to start.  Hockey is the most sociable sport out there.  2 long breaks to drink and shoot the shit.  To bad the Bruins are still Bernie and Phyl’s on ice.

CHAMP TELLZ YOU WHATZ HOT RIGHT NOW-  http://www.vote756.com/marcecko/  That’s right, the person who won the bidding on the Barry Bonds ball was an eccentric millionaire who want YOU to decide what happens to the ball.  Does it A.)  Go to Cooperstown B.)  Go to Cooperstown with an asterisk branded on it, or does it C.)  Get shot into outerspace, never being heard from again?

How can anyone not go with B or C?  It’s awesome!

CHAMP TELLZ YOU WHATZ WICKED GAY RIGHT NOW-  Hollywood.  I’ve seen 30 rock, and I think its funny.  I do have some good chuckles.  I don’t understand how this show can win best tv comedy when it goes up against something as genius as The Office?  If you can honestly tell me that the best episode of 30 rock was funnier than any random episode of the Office, you just don’t know comedy.

    and that’s just plain gay
