Saw two movies over the weekend. One was bad, and one was wicked bad. I mean GAWFUL!
Let’s start out with the bad movie. The Night Listener. I downloaded this on my video ipod, and watched it last night. Robin Williams puts on his serious pants again and puts in a pretty good performance. He’s a gay guy going thorugh a gay break-up with his gay ex-boyfriend and he starts having a gay phone conversation with a gay brother of Macauley Culkin (gay). Turns out that the kid doesn’t exist and the voice is really that of his supposed care-taker, who’d a blind woman, who may not actually be blind but faking it so people will love her or some shit like that. Obviously by the review I had no clue what the fuck was going on, which is becoming the case more and more often with each "serious" flick Robin Williams does. Insomnia? I get it, he’s a psycho. One Hour Photo? I think I get it, he’s a psycho who works at Wal-mart. Final Cut? Um, I guess he’s kind of psycho, or maybe not, but he’s in the future, I’m sure of that.
Just stick to family films Robin.
Aladdin? Gay Genie.
Ferngully? Retarded Bat.
Happy Feet? Ethnic Penguin.
Good Will Hunting? Gay Genie again(Never actually saw this, just assuming from the preview)
Now the shittiest movie of the year has to be 10,000 B.C. Still don’t know how my brother convinced me to see this. Maybe I thought it would be like the cavemen from the Geico commercials, but it just isn’t. All the guys look the same, instead of Velociraptors they have Veloci-ostrich, and the ONE hot chick in the movie does not show ANY skin. They’re in the desert and she’s wearing this cloak out of animal skin. WTF?
I should have walked out of this one and saw Horton Hears a Who or something, but I really did stick around with the hope that the hot chick would get naked. No dice.
Hats off to the Dropkick Murphy’s for one hell of a show last night. I really love this band, because it doesn’t sound like they have a whole catalog of songs, but rather one giant song that just goes on and on and on. And this show had everything: Irish stepdancers, fiddle players, bagpipes, and the Umass Lowell fat girl choir. My favorite part was watching the show in the stands, because as I’ve gotten older I really hate seeing a show on the floor. Now I can get a bird eye view of all the people on the floor and see how homosexual a moshpit really is. As soon as the music starts people start a big circle of this type of dancing where guys blindly throw their fists around and crash in to people, then after about an hour of this they start taking their shirts off, and then the best part comes: a ballad hits and they have no clue what to fuckin’ do. So you have a bunch of sweaty guys with no shirts on, still going through the motions of the pit, but now they’re walking and kind of ’sizing eachother up’ for when the ballad ends and the moshing starts again. Really is something else to watch. Almost thought a good-ol-fashioned Lowell sack-off was gonna break out.

The annual Johnson/Keohan St. Patricks day DOUBLE boiled dinner was today, and I have to say was the best in recent memory. Not only did mom find irish bread with frosting on it, but it had green sprinkles too. So I had a couple of pieces of that, some boiled smoked shoulder, 3 boiled corned beef ribs, and 2 whole potatoes. Took a huge nap after it, not to mention a DIESEL dump.

The NEW spicy Baconator at Wendy’s. Oh man. They somehow improved the Baconator. Now instead of having GROSS mayonaise mixed with ketchup, the Baconator has a spicy sauce. Instead of lame-ass American Cheese, it has Pepper-Jack Cheese. Most importantly, instead of not having jalapeno peppers, IT HAS JALAPENO PEPPERS! Mmmmmmm. This was a great burger. Nice and juicy, and it had a shitload of bacon on it. It was like having half of a spiral ham on top of it.
